Known to cause oral cancer, you may be surprised to learn that ethanol is a primary ingredient in most mouthwashes. In the UK it may be under a different name. Isopropyl alcohols and ethanol (grain alcohol) are very drying and irritating solvents made from propylene, a petroleum derivative and they are known to cause approximately thirty-six thousand cases of oral cancer per year.
Other ingredients are sodium fluoride, artificial sweetners, plenty of other weird and wonderful items, there are also mouthwashes that claim they are alcohol free... would you trust them even if it carries a warning that reads:
"Keep out of reach of children. If more than used for rinsing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away."
