Heavenly Henna scent soaks in Sandalwood’s sacred altar to form an exquisite attar. This unique codistillation of Henna flowers and Sandalwood sensually scents the skin with a light, leafy floral and tea aroma for hours on end. With sumptuous sub-notes of smoke, wood, and chocolate, this balanced aroma is worn as both a perfume and a cologne. Henna Attar, also known as Gulhina, is a rare, long lasting attar distilled from Henna blossoms, poetically expressed as “the odoUr of Paradise” along with sublime Sandalwood.

“The flowers smell extremely sweet, delicately floral, and tea like, reminiscent of Bornia oil. ‘No wonder!’ the chemist would probably say, because beta-ionone and alpha-ionone have been identified in the essential oil of the Henna flowers.”

Famed for its use in ancient Egyptian and Ayurvedic cosmetics, Henna grows in India and blooms profusely in large sweet-scented panicles on the tips of the shrubby branches. Henna is most well-known for the red paste created from the crushed leaves. Yet, in early autumn, the flowers steal the show. The flowers are picked fresh and steam distilled alone and then co-distilled with Sandalwood to create the scent-saturated attar over fourteen days.

"When in the garden enjoy every moment, Every moment of every day. Spring passes into summer, summer into autumn, And the flowers of henna Shall wither away."
~Khushwant Singh, Delhi: A Novel

“It is the moonlit night of March; the sweet smell of henna is in the air; my flute lies on the earth neglected and your garland of flowers in unfinished. This love between you and me is simple as a song. Your veil of the saffron colour makes my eyes drunk. The jasmine wreath that you wove me thrills to my heart like praise.”
~Rabindranath Tagore, The Gardner

“Where dawn arrives on bare toes,
Where night paints henna-beams on feet,
Where fragrance bathes in moonlight,
Is the home of my beloved.

Where rays of light roam nakedly,
In green forests of sandalwood.”

~Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Beloved
