The oil on your face is your friend. ‘What?’ you say? Yes, indeed. All those products that talk about eliminating oil/oil-free/putting the smack down on oil are doing you no favors. When you attack the oil on your face, your face is like “wtf, I thought we were friends,” and then overcompensates trying to make things right. We all know the end of that story, and it ain’t pretty.
Think of Fat and the Moon’s Face Oil like your ambassador. As your ambassador, the face oil helps your skin re-negotiate its own oil production and achieve peace and harmony. Like with most things, the key is balance.
Oil, like fat, is not a dirty word. And as you may recall from the Masa & Olive Face Paste (shout out), oil as a cleanser and moisturizer is great! The blend of oils in the face oil epitomize the ‘fat’ in Fat and the Moon--cause the fat that comes from tamanu, apricot kernel, hemp, jojoba and rosehip seed got it goin on. Loaded with fatty acids and healing properties, all of these oils are light yet potent. You only need a squirt of this stuff for your whole gorgeous face.
Allow me to gush for a moment: Used to treat scars and inflammation, tamanu oil has this ability to be thick and light all at once- a zero grease factor. Jojoba oil (which is technically a wax) has properties which mirror our own skin’s friend--its sebum--so your skin takes it on like one of its own, and it absorbs right in. Rosehip seed oil is a straight up powerhouse; packed with vitamins A, fatty acids and vitamin E helping it to heal all manner of damaged skin. Acne, acne scarring, sun spots and deep wrinkles won’t even see what hit em. The apricot kernel oil has been infused with calendula and burdock for even more gentle anti-inflammatory and healing effects. And I can’t forget about hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is like a raw kale salad for your face. Rich with protein and omegas hemp oil provides major nourishment to your skin. Our Face Oil is good for 'problem' to normal to misunderstood skin. Highly sensitive skin may not dig the rosehip seed oil.
