Bountiful borneol makes this a legend in its own Thyme! Distilled in small batches, this treasured Thyme grows in a valley in Southern Morocco where the Atlas Mountains greet the sands of the Sahara Desert. Moroccan Thyme Essential Oil’s tantalizing aroma tempts taste buds and takes you back to herbaceous seasonal stews enjoyed by a fire where stress is softened and vitality restored. It is a neat treat when strength is needed and clarity is called for.

Botanical Name: Thymus satureioides
Botanical Family: Lamiaceae
Extraction Method: Steam distilled
Part of Plant Distilled: Leaves
Country of Origin: Morocco
Cultivation Method: Organic
Composition: 100% Thymus satureiodes
Consistency: Thin
Scent Description: Savory, herbaceous aroma that warms the chest and is reminiscent of appetizing autumnal refection.

Blends well with: Lavender, Citrus, Sweet Thyme, Thyme, Oregano, Hyssop, Spikenard, Cardamom, Inula, Clary Sage, Marjoram, Sage, and Clove.

Components: Distinctively high content of borneol. Carvacrol, alpha-terpineol, beta-caryophyllene, camphene, linalool, and thymol. “The two main components of the oil are carvacrol and borneol. Oils like oregano can be hard to work with [as in always dilute] … Not so with Moroccan Thyme. Its concentration of carvacrol (a phenol) is low enough to make the oil better tolerated. But the truly outstanding quality of this Thyme is its uniquely high borneol content (a valuable terpene alcohol not encountered in similarly high concentrations in any other oil).” ~Schnaubelt

Use: Diffuse during cold weather for clearer airways and cleaner spaces. Better breathing balm.  One drop in savoury sauces and dishes for a warm herbaceous aroma. Adds long lasting herbal warmth to perfumery. The unique and high content borneol constituents of Moroccan Thyme Essential Oil may solidify in cooler temperature. To bring it to a liquid state, bring the oil up to body temperature by holding in a warm hand or letting the bottle sit warm water.

Contraindication: Dilute to 1% for topical use.

The botanical Thymus family contains over 300 species of hardy herbaceous plants that are well known in herbal-medicinal and culinary crafts. Moroccan Thyme is a popular and pretty aromatic garden shrub and culinary herb of the Mediterranean. The herb brims with 139 bioactive compounds such as terpenoids, phenolic acids, and flavonoids that are released when exposed to steam and captured to create this timeless essential oil.

Moroccan Thyme Essential Oil is pure plant potency, and a little dab will do. In topical preparations it should be diluted to no more than 1% in an organic carrier oil. For culinary use, just one drop added right before serving lends a satisfying-savory aroma to any dish.

One whiff of this warm, stimulating aroma strengthens edgy nerves, boosts vitality, and lightens the load. As an addition to a balm applied to a heavy chest or saturated sinuses, it brings better breathing into reality. This Thyme is on your side!
